To provide interns with information and opportunities to explore different areas of the Rooms Division including the following: front desk, PBX operator, Night Audit, Reservations, Guest Relations and Housekeeping (supervisory duties). Developing and maintaining customer service skills. The intern will learn reservation computer system, reservations procedures, and learn how the front desk interacts with all other departments within the Rooms division. Will be responsible for a thesis project to include but not limited to research, planning and documentation on the opening of RCSC

  1. High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.
  2. Ability to communicate in English with guest, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  3. Previous experience or knowledge of Rooms operation preferred.
  4. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

Desirable

  1. Hospitality degree
  2. Sanitation Certificate.
  3. Ability to communicate in multiple languages

Job Summary:

The Bartender will mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons of the hotel, directly or through servers following standard recipes.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Clean, set up, and stock the bar and all related areas as determined by my manager, opening duties, service manuals and job description.
  • Check the service station's bar requisitions to ensure correct set-up and cleanliness.
  • Check with the manager on duty regarding any special needs.
  • Follow all sequence of service guidelines according to the manual and job description. Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Serves wine and other draught or bottled beer.
  • Collects money for drinks served.
  • Orders and requisitions of liquors and supplies.
  • Places bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
  • Cleans bar and restocks glasses.
  • May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Maintains bar cleanliness and completes daily cleaning duties.
  • Replenishes beverages as necessary and checks with guests for overall satisfaction.
  • Inventories and puts away the liquor in proper storage space.
  • Assist the Restaurant dining services (if necessary), when and where appropriate.
  • Assist with seating guests. (if necessary)
  • At the end of each shift, ensure all tables and chairs are clean for the next meal period.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
  • Ability to learn cash register software used.

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
  • At least one year of related experience is preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.
  • Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be legal drinking age or older.
