In this position, you will be supporting one of our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Businesses located in Sterling Heights, MI or York, PA. Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided. This position is expected to be full-time (40 hours / week) during the summer and part-time (16-20 hours/ weel) with flexibilty.
The Combat Vehicles line of business within the Platforms & Services (P&S) Sector of BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the assembly of armored military vehicles. As a leading global defense, security, and aerospace company, we offer a dynamic and challenging work environment where you can apply theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills. We are looking for an Engineering student to join our Quality Team as an entry level intern. The Quality Assurance Intern will assist in the evaluation and improvement of supplier performance; ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focusing on process optimization, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality Department in maintaining high standards of product excellence and operational compliance. This role is designed for a motivated student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in quality assurance, process improvement, and regulatory compliance within a global defense environment. The intern will work closely with quality professionals to ensure that all deliverables meet customer specifications and internal BAE Systems standards.
As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will:
  • Quality Support: Assist in the execution of quality audits, inspections, and testing protocols to ensure product conformity.
  • Documentation: Help maintain and update quality records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Support the team in identifying process inefficiencies and assisting in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand production requirements and ensure quality checkpoints are integrated into the workflow.
  • Reporting: Assist in the collection and analysis of quality metrics to help track performance trends and areas for improvement.

Required Skills and Education
