Job description

The Electrical Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting the department with various projects including designing, developing, testing, and implementing product components.  Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in planning and performing design development tasks from concept to implementation.
  • Responsible for studying and evaluating disciplinary or interdisciplinary aspects of new product or design concepts
  • Assisting with planning and testing necessary to assure adequate performance of designs for all stages of design and development, or complexity.  
  • Assisting with completing adequate documentation of the performed task including description, specification, testing and implementation.

  • Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Able to interpret data, generate graphs, and visually communicate test results
  • Understanding of basic programming logic and electrical circuit principles
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel in a service function.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be able to work part-time (20 hours approx.) Monday through Friday. (Hamilton will adjust working hours to work with Academic Schedule.) During summer break you will be expected to work 40 hours per week.
