Are you an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with customers, and seeing your designs come to life? Bruce Aerospace is looking for an Applications Engineer to lead customer projects from concept through installation while supporting some of the world's leading aircraft operators and OEMs.
In this highly visible role, you'll work closely with customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, certification, and operations to develop innovative lighting solutions for commercial and military aircraft.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customer programs.
  • Lead projects from proposal through production and installation support.
  • Conduct aircraft surveys and travel to customer sites to gather requirements and provide technical support.
  • Develop technical proposals, installation concepts, engineering documentation, and project plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet customer expectations.
  • Support new business opportunities with technical expertise and cost estimates.
  • Help drive continuous improvement while delivering industry-leading customer service.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of engineering experience; aerospace or regulated manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong project management and customer communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation systems; CAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and international travel.
  • Must be eligible to meet U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR).

Preferred Experience
  • Aerospace, aircraft interiors, or aviation systems.
  • Electrical systems, lighting, electronics, or aircraft installation support.
  • FAA/EASA certification, DO-160, AS9100, or similar regulated environments.
