Status:                                  Intern (Non-exempt)

Duration:                              Temporary - Runs through the end of the 2026 Charlotte FC season, to include potential playoffs.

Position Summary

Charlotte Football Club is actively seeking a Marketing Intern to support the marketing and promotion of the Charlotte FC brand, including single game tickets and season tickets, through ideation and execution of marketing campaigns, matchday activations, grassroots activations, tentpole events, and fan engagement opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple internal departments to help execute marketing initiatives and events.
  • Assist with day-to-day planning and project management of all marketing programs and events.
  • Assist in execution of experiential fan engagement events & opportunities on both matchday and non-matchdays including but not limited to vendor management, setup and breakdown, part-time staff management, guest acquisition, ideation and research.
  • Assist in providing a specialized level of customer service to clients, members and vendors, including day-to-day operations, written correspondence, phone calls, account maintenance, appointment scheduling, follow-up, and inquiries, etc.
  • Assist in daily operations of the Marketing Department, including administrative and clerical support, filing, data entry, storage, deliveries, storage inventory management, etc.
  • Assist with gate giveaway planning and distribution.
  • Assist in building brand awareness across the Carolinas and beyond.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, including the ability to merge documents and manage multi-page spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills is a plus.
  • Experience working in the soccer, sports, and/or entertainment industry.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position operates in a professional office environment and outside in a stadium facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Local travel to events may be required.  This position typically works approximately 40 hours per week.

  • Must be able to work in all Charlotte FC home matches.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
  • Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
  • Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
