Position Overview

The Carolina Panthers Intern, Social Video will ideate, produce, and edit engaging video designed for the specific needs and intricacies of social media platforms, including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. The Social Video Intern will work alongside a team of two other video producers to develop custom video for each platform using both original shoots, found footage, and social edits and moments from longer pieces designed for other platforms. The Intern, Social video should be a constant source of creativity, focused primarily on football edits, and content capture set-ups that show the personality and dynamics of the team as a unit. The Social Video Intern will serve the mission daily to help lead the Panthers social accounts to rank among the most prolific, engaging, and effective accounts in the NFL.

 Primary Responsibilities
  • Work alongside Sr. Producer, Social Video and Producer, Social Video, focused entirely on video for social media.
  • Working with team, to ideate and create football-forward content designed specifically for the social user.
  • Help Social team log footage from previous games, as well as search archives for specific b-roll.
  • Assist Senior Producer, Social Video and Producer, Social Video capture the team in lighter, helmets-off settings focused on team personality and camaraderie within the group. Work with the team through ideation, pre-production, production, and post, creating the right environment to capture moments that can draw engagement on social.
  • Work alongside the social team to understand the pulse of the moment, and help produce video content that allows Panthers channels to participate in the relevant conversations of the moment.
  • Create opportunities to collaborate on video content with outside media personalities, universities, and relevant entertainment voices, increasing our brand reach to strategic audiences.
  • Contribute to a prolific social video pipeline, leading the Panthers to rank in the top 8 in Social Videos Posted year over year.
  • Analyze the performance of social video on various platforms, and use analytics to fine-tune the team’s output until the Panthers rank in the Top 8 in NFL Interaction Rate year over year.
  • Monitor trends in the social video space to stay on the bleeding edge of social video. Drive the Panthers Social Video team to be considered among the League’s leaders in innovation and creativity.
  • Help edit and or shoot games, with flexibility to travel road games during the season.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ year experience shooting and editing sports
  • Demonstrated ability to edit for social, with a reel to show for it
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, and a developed philosophy on how video can win on social
  • Strong video shooting experience, with developed ability to utilize various camera set-ups depending on the project
  • Strong video editing skills, with experience editing in Adobe environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally alongside players and major influencers
  • Ability and desire to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays is a must. This role is expected to work every home and road game during the NFL season.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens

Physical Requirements

  • Walking throughout the stadium facility, sometimes for an extended period of time.
