Football Operations Internship โ€“ Fall 2026

IMG Academy is seeking a motivated and organized intern to support the Football Department during the Fall 2026 season. This role blends football operations, administration, and student-athlete support, providing hands-on exposure to a high-performance football environment. The intern will work closely with football program leadership, operations staff, and coaching staff to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a world-class experience for IMG Academy football student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Boarding School Football Program:

  • Assist with the execution of weekly and seasonal football training schedules.
  • Track athlete attendance and help ensure student-athletes are where they need to be (practices, lifts, meetings, academics, recovery sessions).
  • Support operational needs for practices and games including equipment setup, video coordination, and practice organization.
  • Assist coaching staff with practice logistics and post-practice breakdown.
  • Serve as a resource for student-athlete questions and day-to-day logistical support.
  • Help coordinate team travel, events, and game-day operations.
  • Support delivery of student-athlete services including leadership development, recovery, and performance sessions.
  • Assist with communication and coordination between football staff and other departments including performance, academics, and residential life.

Program Management Assistance:

  • Work alongside football operations staff to support administrative and organizational duties.
  • Assist with roster management, data entry, and schedule distribution.
  • Help prepare reports, athlete evaluations, and internal documentation.
  • Assist with film organization and basic video coordination when needed.
  • Help gather and organize content (photos, video clips) for recruiting, athlete development, or marketing use.
  • Support planning and execution of football program events such as recruiting showcases, prospect days, and team functions.
  • Assist with collecting feedback from student-athletes and staff to support continuous program improvement.

Student-Athlete Experience & Culture Support:

  • Foster a welcoming and professional environment for both full-time student-athletes and visiting prospects.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for younger student-athletes.
  • Help monitor and support student-athlete well-being in collaboration with residential life, academics, and health services.
  • Promote IMG Academyโ€™s core values of integrity, teamwork, performance, and growth.

Camp and Event Operations Support:

  • Assist with logistics and setup for football camps, clinics, and recruiting events.
  • Support the check-in and check-out process and coordinate daily camp flow when applicable.
  • Help coordinate on-field activities such as drills, competitions, and showcase events.
  • Assist with event logistics including internal scrimmages, showcases, and prospect days.
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and professional training environment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain firsthand experience in football operations within a nationally recognized athletic program.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in football operations, coaching, or athletic administration.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends during the football season.
  • Previous football experience (player, coach, manager, or operations role) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and remain active for extended periods during practices, games, and events.
