What does an intern in an energy efficiency program do?

An Intern in an Energy Efficiency Program typically assists with projects aimed at reducing energy consumption in buildings, industries, or communities. Their responsibilities may include collecting and analyzing energy usage data, supporting energy audits, researching new technologies, and helping to develop outreach materials. These internships provide hands-on experience with sustainability initiatives and help interns understand how energy efficiency measures are implemented in real-world settings.

What kinds of projects and responsibilities can an intern in an energy efficiency program expect to work on?

As an Intern in an Energy Efficiency Program, you will typically assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting on energy usage for various projects. You may help evaluate the effectiveness of energy-saving measures, support outreach efforts to clients or community members, and participate in conducting energy audits under supervision. Collaboration with engineers, program managers, and external stakeholders is common, providing valuable exposure to both technical and communication aspects of the field. This role offers hands-on experience and can serve as a stepping stone to more advanced positions in energy management or sustainability.
