Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (Electrical)-  Location: Michigan City, IN (Project Maize)
Pay rate: $40-$42/hr + OT
-  Per Diem: $178/day Per Diem (7 days/week regardless)
-  Hours: 50-60+ hours/week (6 days, potential for 7)
-  Duration: 1-2 Years
-  Temp-to-Hire Potential
-  Start ASAP  Looking for an Electrical Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to serve as the right-hand person to the Lead Project Manager on a large-scale project in Michigan City, IN. This individual will support day-to-day project operations, paperwork, field coordination, and project administration while gaining exposure to project management responsibilities. Ideal Background

  • Electrical construction experience is required
  • Experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant PM, Field Engineer, or similar role
  • Construction Management degree preferred
  • Candidates who progressed from Apprentice → Journeyman → Foreman → Project Management are highly desirable
  • Experience working for electrical contractors similar to client or other large commercial/industrial electrical contractors

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead PM with daily project execution
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Review electrical plans, schematics, and specifications
  • Coordinate material procurement and ensure materials are ordered on schedule
  • Track project paperwork and maintain documentation flow
  • Work closely with field leadership and project stakeholders

Must-Haves

  • Strong understanding of electrical construction processes
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience handling RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
