Located in Longueuil, on the South Shore of Montreal, this plant is not only the centre par excellence of the largest players in the aerospace industry for landing gear repair and maintenance, but also the plant that is recognized for the manufacture of the famous legs of the Apollo 11 lunar module.

Main responsibilities

The intern will participate in the accident analysis process, the health and safety committee, plant walkthroughs, and the updating of HSE KPI data. The intern will contribute to the continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental practices.

The intern will conduct walkthroughs with supervisors and members of management, follow up on corrective actions, prepare Health and Safety Committee (HSC) reports, participate in updating safety data sheets, and provide HSE training.

As part of his projects, the intern will work closely with maintenance workers, HR/OHS partners, and the purchasing, technical, and production teams.

  • Creation and monitoring of HSE alerts
  • Follow-up with workers on the respiratory protection program
  • Participation in HSC meetings, preparation of reports, and follow-up on corrective actions
  • Conduct factory tours to verify compliance with HSE procedures
  • Update safety data sheets
  • Participate in accident investigations and follow up on actions taken
  • Evaluate workstations and suggest improvements
  • Contribute to improving the execution of preventive maintenance
  • Provide induction training to new employees
  • Participate in intervention team meetings and follow up on actions taken
