Overview

AtkinsRealis is looking for a Senior Structural Civil Engineer to join a team dedicated to studies primarily focused on hydroelectric projects, where you can leverage your experience and expertise to assist clients in decision-making or clarifying their needs. In this role, you will work within the Hydro-Energy Operations engineering team on the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of structures for various dam, hydraulic works, building, and bridge projects in the hydroelectric sector.


You will be part of a multidisciplinary team involved in projects ranging from feasibility studies to construction, and you will work on provincial, national, and international assignments. This position offers excellent opportunities for growth and career development.

Your Role

  • Act as Lead Structural Engineer on hydroelectric-type projects;
  • Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants, and related structures (concrete and steel);
  • Rehabilitation of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric plants, and related structures;
  • Multidisciplinary coordination, assist and lead design meetings;
  • Produce preliminary and detailed engineering, and prepare and/or verify structural calculations and associated calculation notes;
  • Participate in and oversee the production of key technical deliverables, including design reports, structural drawings, and technical specifications for tender and construction;
  • Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate engineers;
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure services meet expectations and keep them informed of project progress.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, structural profile; Master's degree in Civil Engineering is an asset;
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in building and hydraulic structure design (hydroelectric and dam projects);
  • Member of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec (OIQ);
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written);
  • Availability for site visits and occasional travel.
