This is an intern level position. Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in the utility industry under close supervision. This position will provide challenging assignments, networking opportunities, and a chance to learn from experienced energy industry professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance activities as required to maintain, repair, inspect, install, rebuild, construct, and troubleshoot various power plant equipment.
  • Assist in startup and shut down of plant equipment including monitoring and operating plant and responding to events and emergencies.
  • Assist in operating controls and devices for proper plant operation. Coordinate unit operation with Generation Dispatch and Transmission Operations as required.
  • Assist employees in carrying out work assignments.
  • Clean equipment undergoing repairs, handle and move material, supplies and equipment in connection with the work and work area.
  • Be able to learn to make and read simple drawings and sketches.
  • Prepare and take the Edison Electrical Institute (EEI) POSS/MASS test measuring job responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem solving skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in a technical field. Applicable degree fields include Applied Process Technology, Engineering and Electronics Technology, or a related field.

Minimum 2.50 GPA.
