JOB SUMMARY

Energy Transport Logistics is seeking a self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, who can act as terminal manager. They must be able to lead and direct all activities related to the facility to meet or exceed customer expectations, as well as the goals of the facility and company. The terminal manager will be responsible for the safe execution of daily operational plans and strategies to manage, lead and allocate resources, disseminate information to teammates, ensure compliance with key processes while achieving safety, quality, efficiency and financial KPIs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that operations team is communicating effectively and professionally with the correct party, whether with each other, the customer, agent, or downline station regarding, but not limited to freight availability, capacity, status, cost.
  • Analyze and audit daily reports to assess performance, trends, opportunities, savings, and efficiency.
  • Lead, motivate and support a team in a time-sensitive and demanding environment. Be a catalyst for coaching and developing those around you to support the operational needs of the terminal.
  • Implement processes for improvement, when necessary.
  • Maintain constant communication with management teams in addressing service failures, issues, and OSDs along with developing and putting in place sustainable processes and procedures of improvements.
  • Initiates positive methods of driving effective conflict resolution and quality control.
  • Ensure operations is staffed appropriately and ensure effective training and hiring processes, including, but not limited to onboarding, performance, training, employee development.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure that safety and work standards are met, if not exceeded in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure all shipment back up paperwork, documentation and reference numbers are attached, scanned in, or entered appropriately.
  • May need to stand, lift, squat for extended period of time.
  • Audit shipment lifecycle and adjust/ review as directed, spot quotes, rates, charges.
  • Supervise and manage daily receiving of arriving schedules and direct drivers.
  • Conflict resolution.

COMPETENCIES

  • Five (5) years of management experience.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong leadership and multi-tasker: Coaching and Developing Others - providing feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities; planning and supporting the development of individual skills and abilities implementing and facilitating change to address problems and efficiency.
  • Strong professionalism and ability to use appropriate interpersonal methods for conflict resolution.
  • Strong understanding of all MS Office Programs, freight operating systems such as AS400, Alpha Truck, TMW, Freight Data, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Decision-making ability with excellent customer focus and demonstrated attention to detail with proven track record for delivering results.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced/high volume environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights and/or weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as typing and keying.
  • Ability to carry up to 50lbs of supplies or materials.
  • Relevant experience can include cartage, transportation, moving companies, customer service, logistics, linehaul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations and air/ocean dispatching.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) or more years in successful managerial and operational experience.
  • Knowledge of company policy and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This job frequently operates in an indoor, professional office environment, with occasionally being on dock & shop floors in the terminal. Employee may occasionally encounter vibration, noise, odors, and extremes in temperature and wind, as well as exposure to varied weather, varied surfaces, sharp edges, varied lighting, confined/ congested areas, and occasionally exposure to petroleum-based products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, or grease.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing, while using office equipment and computers. Employee may need to continually speak and hear, give, and receive directions. Employee may need to occasionally reach, stretch, crouch, or stoop. There may be seldom lifting, pushing/pulling.
