Job description

Responsibilities:

Deliver excellence in service

Lead Transportation/Service management Teams in multiple locations regionally and nationwide

Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively; take corrective action as necessary in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies

Foster a "safety first" culture through awareness, training, and accountability

Establishes and maintains positive employee relations and excellent internal communication

Establish a culture of continuous improvement and learning to drive thought leadership and high customer service levels while driving to a low-cost operating model

Assist Senior management in developing and implementing programs to increase staff retention

Direct and implement strategic corporate and local initiatives

Direct and monitor daily operations to assure services are performed efficiently and in accordance with appropriate regulations, standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines

Monitor operational metrics and compliance guidelines throughout the network and ensure all local, state, and federal regulations are met

Provide accurate and timely submission of key quality, financial, and safety reports

Ensure efficient utilization of assets to streamline operating costs.

Develop and support new operational initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs

Coordinate quarterly business review with Local Managers to evaluate the performance

Foster a supportive work environment

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPI's that drive performance and accountability

Assist senior management with every aspect of developing, managing, and growing the business

Assist managers Develop local budgets and review local P&L

Review and supervise vendor contracts and payments, including leases, insurances, etc.

Manage vendor communications and maintains a relationship

Strive for continuous improvement of overall fleet operations Qualifications Education/Experience

Ensure the quality management system procedures and processes are implemented and maintained throughout the network

Perform other related duties as assigned

Required skills and Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions in the supply chain, logistics, and distribution.

Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a professional logistics staff.

Experience across multiple logistics operations elements, including all modes of transportation, fleet, distribution, ecommerce fulfillment, and network optimization.

Experience identifying and implementing new transportation processes and systems.

Critical Competencies for Success include expertise in Dedicated Fleet Operations, Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and 3PL relationships.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and vendors.

Strong business and financial acumen.

Availability to travel up to 50-60% of the time.

Education and Training

Bachelor's degreepreferred

Bilingual English/Spanisha plus

knowledge of logistics-related systems (TMS, PMS, WMS, etc.)

Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM software (SalesForce)

Experience in supply chain management in a distribution environment

Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment

Working knowledge of financial accounting and human resources practices
