Intermediate Designer

DesignAgency is an international studio specializing in interior design, architectural concepting, strategic branding, and visual communications. With a lead studio in Toronto, and offices in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Barcelona, DesignAgency works with leading hotels and resorts, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, and developers, leveraging talent, expertise, and the power of collaboration to deliver extraordinary experiences that create lasting value.

DesignAgency depends on Intermediate Designers to carry out projects under the supervision of Senior Designers. The company relies on Intermediate Designers to collaborate with their colleagues to design, execute and deliver great projects and develop excellent client relationships. They are expected to consult with Senior Designers and Principals on any design, technical, production, scope or client issues of which they become aware. Intermediate Designers are required to manage their project time, and meet the firm's targets for time expenditure and billing for themselves and their project teams.

Role and Responsibilities Design โ€ข Strive for design impact through innovative, thoughtful and functional design. โ€ข Participate in the development of approaches, concepts and designs that exceed client expectations โ€ข Produce or direct the creation of renderings and presentations that attract and inspire clients and team members โ€ข Conceive and design elements of moderate complexity, or smaller projects, from design development to closeout. โ€ข Conceive, design and execute projects of moderate complexity from proposal through concept, construction and closeout โ€ข Work to master the development, continuity and detailing of design concepts โ€ข Develop a strong mastery of appropriate construction techniques โ€ข Develop high-quality drawing and documentation sets that are clear, comprehensive and consistent โ€ข Strive to reduce rework, errors and omissions

Leadership โ€ข Contribute to the design dialogue in the firm โ€ข Lead, motivate and develop design teams that consistently deliver great design, technical quality and client service โ€ข Contribute the development of systems and processes for improved design, technical quality or client service โ€ข Create sound relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers to promote repeat business

Qualifications โ€ข Interior Design Diploma or equivalent โ€ข Minimum 5 years of industry experience โ€ข Hotel and Food & Beverage interior design experience is preferred โ€ข Previous professional experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp โ€ข Experience using Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign is beneficial โ€ข An understanding of IBC and ADA building codes โ€ข Multi-unit residential experience is preferred

The pay range listed aligns with the geography of the studio for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based on work experience, education, licensure, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of the offer. The successful candidate will be eligible to participate in DesignAgency's robust benefits program which includes 401(k) contributions, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as hybrid working and paid time off (vacation, sick time, holiday closure, bereavement, etc.). The base salary is estimated between $72,000 - $89,000.

The successful candidate will be eligible to participate on the same basis as similarly situated employees in the Company's benefit plans in effect from time to time during their employment. All matters of eligibility for coverage or benefits under any benefit plan shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of such plan. The Company reserves the right to change, alter, or terminate any benefit plan in its sole discretion.
