Job Summary
The Northeast - Project Manager - Asphalt Paving (DOT) provides overall management direction for transportation projects, with a focus on asphalt paving and structural work. You will be responsible for establishing project objectives, overseeing financial and operational performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role demands a leader who can manage budgets, analyze critical reports, and optimize field operations to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Vision: Embrace and implement WW Clyde's core values and strategic vision.
- Project Management: Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with corporate guidelines.
- Financial Oversight: Manage contract financials, including cost controls, job costs, and forecasting to ensure projects maximize profitability and stay on budget.
- Reporting & Analysis: Regularly review Hot Plant, crusher, and job reports to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Risk Management: Identify potential issues early and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
- Client Relations: Engage with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve project-related issues.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
Technical Expertise
- Asphalt Paving & Materials Specifications: Familiarity with State and Federal materials specifications for asphalt paving.
- Operations Optimization: Collaborate with QC/QA teams to fine-tune crushing and Hot Plant operations, ensuring optimal productivity. Manage and maximize the efficiency of crushing operations using the appropriate equipment.
- Field Experience: Experience working in portable crushing and/or Hot Plant environments is highly preferred.
- Estimating: Work alongside the Area Manager to develop estimates and conduct pit exploration for new projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Asphalt Paving within a Project Management or Quality Control role. Prior experience managing Arizona DOT or DOT Heavy Civil Asphalt Paving projects is required. Experience with Federal Contracts and DOT Specifications is strongly preferred.
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills with an acute attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on employee performance and innovative management techniques.
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote job sites throughout Arizona and the surrounding regions.
