Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team, based in Ontario, and have the opportunity to work on various roadway/highway projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Prepare preliminary design reports (PDR), design criteria, preliminary and detailed designs associated with new and/or the rehabilitation of divided highways, arterial regional roads, collector roads, and local roads. 
  • Prepare preliminary designs for CADD staff and review drawings for compliance with applicable industry and client standards.
  • Prepare Contract Specifications, Tender Documents, and Applications for Agency Approvals.
  • Review and issue finalized Shop Drawings.
  • Coordinate and mentor junior staff working within the division.
  • Liaise with Clients, Sub-consultants, Contractors and construction supervision staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of Proposals for future projects.

What your experience looks like

  • Emphasis and proficiency with MicroStation, Openroads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D. Experience with earlier versions of MicroStation and Inroads will be considered.
  • Strong computer software skills with ProjectWise, Word, Excel & MS Project.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MTO's software applications CPS and HiCo.
  • Comprehensive knowledge with MTO and Metrolinx standards, including various Municipal & Regional design and drafting standards.
  • Skilled in cost estimating, quantity preparation and specification writing.
  • Have a track record of gaining approval of infrastructure designs from MTO, roads authorities and environmental agencies.
  • Independent, Organized and Motivated Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deliver projects under stringent schedules in a fast-paced turnaround environment.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience.

The salary range for this role is between $80,739K - $107,026K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
