IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is a recognized leader in Facilities Management and Operations in support of Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions.
Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP provides facility services including operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics, construction, grounds, custodial, environmental, safety, safety, access control, events, and food services.
IAP is seeking an Interior Designer
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain NGA interior design standards, processes, procedures, forms, and documentation, to improve quality and efficiency in concert with existing aesthetics, while also researching and procuring new and innovative design solutions as they become current
• Carefully coordinate with customers to understand their needs, and thoughtfully select furniture, fixtures, and equipment that ensure maximum durability for longevity, aesthetic value, life expectancy, functional space layouts, and flow planning to enhance and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the workforce
Provide detailed planning and execution of interior design, furniture, and art & branding projects and maintain furniture, art, graphics, branding, and building signage inventory
• Perform architectural surveys, collect requirements, and interface with government project managers, building maintenance contractors, general contractors, or other personnel
• Prepare detailed drawings using Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) and 3D-BIM related software showing color schemes, furniture, furnishings and wall décor for all projects requiring interior design services
• Maintain an up-to-date facility department material library with trending commercial design industry product categories including furniture, fabrics, flooring, interior building products, interior finishes
• Maintain a physical and digital inventory of existing materials, products, and finishes for Operational & Maintenance (O&M) purposes
• Produce furniture documentation, drawings, specifications, criteria and cost estimates. Utilize NGA IWMS platform to define and maintain NGA furniture standard
Required/Desired Skills and Experience:
• Add NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer preferred
• Demonstrated experience in understanding/interpreting construction drawings in Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and IT trades
• Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup
• Demonstrated experience utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, Indesign, & Illustrator)
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite such as building spreadsheets, consolidating input across various offices, and edit/update as needed
Education: MS or MA in Interior Design, or BS or BA In Interior Design with 7 years of Commercial Design experience
