Summary
The selected individual will be responsible for leading various civil-site engineering and site planning tasks, including but not limited to jurisdictional zoning code research and interpretation, spatial infrastructure layout, grading plans, roadway plan and profile, utility layout and coordination, and erosion control typically associated with telecommunication, renewable energy, and small commercial (data center, fiber huts, etc.) site development plans. The ability to manage multiple projects from feasibility assessment through the issuance of a building permit, including correspondence with subcontractors, governing agencies, and client representatives is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to lead projects from scoping to completion, including but not limited to:
  • Completing spatial layout of telecommunication, renewable energy, and small commercial facilities based on governing municipality zoning requirements.
  • Completing and optimizing design of facilities from an earthwork, drainage, spatial, construction feasibility, and cost-efficiency perspective.
  • Performing design tasks including roadway plan / profile, grading, erosion control, and permitting.
  • Coordinating with client representatives, governing agency personnel, and other project stakeholders to determine various design and permitting requirements.
  • Managing projects to ensure they are on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Coordinating with sub-consultants and intra-company personnel to provide clients with turn-key solutions.
  • Attending site meetings with client representatives to discuss design concept and solutions.
  • Reviewing and QA/QC of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.
  • Assisting younger engineers and drafters regarding site development design and drafting principles

Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Experience with computer drafting software, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, is required.
  • Experience managing site development projects at a holistic level is required.
  • Experience designing all aspects (roadway plan and profile, grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion control, infrastructure layout, etc.) of civil-site development is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
  • Experience in the survey field, including office and field survey operations a plus

Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution with the experience highlighted below; OR Associates Degree in a technical discipline with the experience highlighted below
Experience/Other Requirements
With Bachelor of Science Degree, design experience amounting to four (4) - eight (8) years of practice; with Associates Degree, design experience amounting to eight (8) to twelve (12) years of practice. Professional Engineer license is strongly preferred.
Travel
Some travel, approximately 10%, will be required.
