Billie Arthur Design Studio is a luxury furnishings and design studio located in Sioux Falls, SD. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and client-focused Interior Design Consultant to help create a one-of-a-kind experience for our clients. The ideal candidate has a passion for interior design, home furnishings, décor, and creating beautiful spaces. Whether you are an experienced design professional, early in your design career, transitioning from a related field, or simply possess a natural eye for aesthetics and style, this role offers the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while helping clients bring their vision to life. As an Interior Design Consultant, you will work closely with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members to create inviting, functional, and visually appealing environments tailored to each client's unique lifestyle and preferences. Our state-of-the-art design studio and extensive selection of luxury furnishings provide an exciting environment for individuals eager to build relationships, grow their knowledge, and contribute to the success of a premier ‘interiors’ destination.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients in selecting furnishings, décor, lighting, finishes, flooring, wall coverings, and accessories that reflect their personal style and functional needs.
  • Help develop design concepts, mood boards, presentations, and product recommendations for residential design projects.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by providing exceptional customer service, design guidance, and ongoing project support.
  • Collaborate with team members, vendors, contractors, architects, and builders to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Support project coordination, including order management, deliveries, vendor communications, scheduling, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding project status, selections, timelines, and expectations.
  • Contribute to revenue goals through product knowledge, relationship building, and promoting luxury furnishings and design services.
  • Assist in managing project budgets and ensuring design recommendations align with client objectives and investment levels.
  • Create a welcoming, engaging, and professional showroom experience for clients and guests.
  • Stay informed about design trends, industry innovations, furnishings, materials, and emerging styles.
  • Participate in showroom events, community engagement opportunities, networking functions, and client gatherings.
  • Represent Billie Arthur Design Studio with professionalism, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a polished presentation.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passion for interior design, home furnishings, decorating, luxury living, or related creative fields.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Customer service, retail, hospitality, sales, project coordination, or design experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to build trust and deliver a high level of client service.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for color, style, space planning, and aesthetics.
  • Willingness to learn design principles, products, industry trends, and project management processes.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning new software and technology tools.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, coursework, certification, or training in interior design, fashion, art, marketing, communications, architecture, merchandising, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, sales, event planning, project coordination, or other client-focused roles is valuable.
  • Previous experience in interior design or residential furnishings is beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated interest in interior design, decorating, furnishings, home renovation, or creative pursuits through education, personal projects, social media, volunteer work, or professional experience is encouraged
