What Is Interdisciplinary Studies?
The subject of interdisciplinary studies focuses on more than one area of specialization. By pursuing a degree that focuses on different topics, you can prepare for a specific career or have the flexibility and skills to pursue a broad range of jobs after graduation. Degrees for students who study a broad range of topics include liberal arts degrees or general studies degrees. At many schools, interdisciplinary studies programs focus on two or more specific areas. Students in these programs may have to write a proposal that includes the reasons for pursuing interdisciplinarity before beginning their degree program.
