Job description

The Senior IT Engineer - Systems Integration is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integrations across the organization's diverse technology stack. This role serves as a technical bridge between internal systems, third-party platforms, and cloud services, ensuring seamless data flow, process automation, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in REST APIs, middleware platforms, and enterprise system administration, with a track record of delivering robust integrations in complex, multi-system environments. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, IT, and business stakeholders to drive integration strategy and elevate the organization's technical capabilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between internal platforms, SaaS applications, identity systems, HRIS, communication tools, and other enterprise systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware solutions.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for API-based connectivity, owning the integration architecture and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of all integration points.
  • Administer and optimize core IT systems including Microsoft 365 (Azure AD/Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune), Okta or equivalent SSO/IdP platforms, AWS, and other enterprise applications.
  • Build and maintain automated workflows and data pipelines to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and enable real-time data sharing across business units.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Operations teams to ensure integrations adhere to security best practices.
  • Monitor integration health, proactively troubleshoot failures, and maintain alerting and logging for all critical integration workflows.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including integration maps, API inventories, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
  • Mentor junior IT staff, providing technical oversight and sharing best practices in integration design and system administration.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO-27001, PCI-DSS) across all systems and integrations.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex cross-system technical issues, taking ownership through to resolution.
  • Ensure consistent availability of IT services, with flexibility to support internal business partners across multiple time zones.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent Associate's degree combined with relevant certifications.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in IT engineering, with a strong focus on systems integration and API development.
  • Deep proficiency with REST APIs, including API design, authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT), JSON/XML data formats, and related tools (e.g. Postman).
  • Proven experience integrating enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., Okta, Workday, Salesforce, Slack, Atlassian, Microsoft 365) with custom and third-party systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Basic proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript/Node.js) for automation and integration scripting.
  • Strong system administration experience with Microsoft 365 (Azure AD/Entra, Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint) and/or other enterprise platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex cross-system issues independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A strong sense of ownership and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally #LI-REMOTE
