What You will Do:
  • Design, develop, and enhance decision-making software functionalities for autonomous and intelligent systems, including operational recovery and dynamic replanning capabilities for L4 Autonomy
  • Develop and implement control logic, state machines, and fault management strategies to support safe and reliable system operation under normal and exceptional conditions for MRM executions.
  • Enhance existing software features and system commands based on integration, validation, and field-testing feedback.
  • Analyze data logs from complex software, embedded, and control systems to identify root causes of issues, evaluate system performance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support system recovery, operational continuity, and adaptive planning capabilities for highly automated platforms.
  • Perform software debugging, issue investigation, root cause analysis, and implement improvements based on test and validation results.
  • Conduct system integration, testing, calibration, and performance optimization activities. Analyze test data to improve system behavior and reliability.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and verification tests while ensuring adequate test coverage and validation of functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, software development, quality assurance, and validation organizations to deliver robust solutions.
  • Ensure software and model quality through static analysis, coding standards compliance, model-based development best practices, and adherence to applicable functional safety and industry standards.
  • Work on code quality fixes of the embedded hardware using Polyspace and Simulink Check. Perform ISO 26262 model guideline compliance checks and conduct static code analysis using Polyspace while ensuring compliance with MAAB modeling guidelines.

What You Will Bring:
  • Master's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience in Model-Based Design (MBD).
  • Experience developing embedded control algorithms.
  • Knowledge of autonomous vehicles or ADAS software development.
  • Experience with vehicle state machines and decision logic.
  • Familiarity with software debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Experience performing software integration and vehicle validation.
  • Knowledge of model quality standards including:
  • MAAB Guidelines
  • ISO 26262 Modeling Guidelines

Experience with:
  • Simulink Check
  • Polyspace
  • Simulink Test
  • Design Verifier
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Have
  • Experience with ROS2 (Robot Operating System 2) middleware, including nodes, topics, services, and DDS-based communication for robotics/autonomy software integration

Pay Range: $55/hour-$65/hour
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position located in Northville, MI
  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
