ABOUT THIS POSITION

We're looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst who is eager to support Waystar leadership by analyzing sales and operational data to uncover actionable insights. In this role, you'll play a critical part in driving data-informed decisions that maximize business performance and deliver insights that help drive improved outcomes for healthcare providers.
You will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and reviewing data from multiple sources, developing reports and dashboards, and identifying key trends and patterns that inform process improvements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help translate complex datasets into clear, understandable narratives that support initiatives across sales, marketing, product development, and client operations.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business, analytics, or data science, have a strong aptitude for data manipulation tools, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively present findings to diverse audiences. This role suits someone who enjoys digging into data and contributing to projects that have a tangible impact on the organization's growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards to support day-to-day decision-making across business areas including product, marketing, operations, and client engagement

  • Conduct foundational analyses on KPIs such as user engagement, retention, throughput, and campaign performance to identify trends and variances

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand data needs, translate them into report requirements, and support ad hoc analysis requests

  • Assist in building clear and interpretable "proof of concepts" from complex data sources to support tactical and strategic goals

  • Support data quality efforts by validating report accuracy and identifying inconsistencies across reporting platforms

  • Document reporting processes, definitions, and logic to ensure clarity and continuity

  • Recommend improvements to existing reports or dashboards to enhance usability, efficiency, or business relevance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data collection, standardization, and reporting consistency

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • You have a bachelor's degree in analytics, data science or related field

  • You have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and complex modeling; specifically - lookup functions, pivot tables, pivot charts, etc.

  • You have 1-2+ years of experience working in operations or other data-related fields, and have advanced analytical skills and the ability to distill complex analyses for management

  • You're comfortable in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working cross-functionally, want to leave a stamp on the organization, and are the type of person who gets things done

  • You have a working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) tools, preferably Salesforce

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint

  • You are detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models and technologies

  • You are highly organized with the ability to prioritize and execute many concurrent tasks
