Patent Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an IP Litigation Associate to join a premier international law firm’s nationally recognized Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented litigation associate to work on high-profile patent and trade secret disputes for leading clients across the technology, life sciences, and consumer products industries.

The firm is widely regarded as a powerhouse in patent litigation, known for handling cutting-edge matters involving complex technologies and bet-the-company disputes in venues across the country. Associates receive meaningful responsibility, hands-on courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to work alongside elite trial lawyers in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in sophisticated patent and trade secret litigation matters
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including:
    • Case strategy development
    • Fact and expert discovery
    • Motion practice
    • Depositions
    • Trial preparation
    • Appeals and post-trial proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex technical and legal issues

Qualifications
  • 1-6 years of intellectual property litigation experience, including patent and/or trade secret litigation
  • Strong academic credentials in both legal and undergraduate studies
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field preferred
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong business judgment and ability to manage sophisticated matters
