Position: Wireman
Location: Jacksonville, FL, 32257
Duration: 6 Months
Shift: (07:00 AM - 03:00 PM)
 
Job Description: Successfully assemble, install, and wire to completion equipment used in the railroad signaling industry including signal equipment enclosures and associated sub-components, wayside signals, switch machines, meter services, and power distribution cases. Must be able to read railroad signal design blueprints and translate the information to successfully assemble and wire these items according to predetermined standards while maintaining compliance with safety procedures.
Experience/Skills Required: Ability to perform the following task: Layout, Back Boards, Gates, Lights, Meter poles and tags. Associates degree from an accredited electronics or technical school, preferred 1-2 years experience with electronics, required A good general knowledge of the types of materials, equipment and devices used to make up railroad signal systems, preferred Must possess a valid driver license Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must have strong reading and writing skills Working Conditions: Inside the construction and wiring facility having limited climate control.
