Position Description


The Contract Administrator provides support for the formation, administration, and closeout of assigned subcontracts on a given project.


Essential Functions

  • Assist with the prequalification of potential subcontractors
  • Apply knowledge of construction contracting best practices
  • Prepare and review contracts with subcontractors
  • Maintain files of all subcontracts for designated projects
  • Maintain correspondence files for subcontracts
  • Provide contract administration functions including maintaining records of scope changes, extra work requests, letters to/from contractor, etc.
  • Handle invoice review and payment
  • Provide project control with cost trends for subcontracts
  • Performs special projects as required


Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in contracts administration
  • Knowledge of contractual language and terminology
  • Familiarity with insurance coverage principles for contracts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with word processing and spread sheet software
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas industry, with engineering services for oil and gas pipeline projects a plus
  • Understanding of contract language with respect to project scope of work and client requirements/expectations

Work Environment/Physical Demands
