Wage Range: $90,000-130,000 + annual discretionary bonus

Job Summary
MTech Mechanical is the leading mechanical design/build contractor in Colorado, and the majority of our project procurement is negotiated in a design/build or design/assist arrangement. MTechโ€™s culture is centered around our commitment to innovation, support of our internal teams, our integrated project approach, and our long term client relationships. MTech Mechanical performs mechanical construction work of various size in multiple industries from large ground up buildings, to complicated facility renovations, as well as service and repairs of equipment. Special Projects executes projects that are typically smaller in size with shorter durations.
A Special Projects Client Representative has an entrepreneurial spirit and able to work independently as well as within a team atmosphere. The Client Representative is involved in projects from inception through completion and responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, project procurement, leading project design, and project management. The Client Rep will coordinate all aspects of a project with the owner, GC, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field managers/craftsmen to lead the team to a successful project completion.
A successful candidate will be responsible for:
General
  • Being part of MTechโ€™s culture and promotion of MTech values within the company, industry, and community.
  • Being a valuable participant in MTechโ€™s and Special Projectsโ€™ continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Working with MTech internal support groups and external clients.
  • Ability to be flexible and successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Preconstruction and project management as described below.
Preconstruction
  • Development of new clients and maintain customer relationships (GC and end user)
  • Meeting with clients to understand projects and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Preparing conceptual budgets based upon preliminary project information.
  • Preparation of project Estimate and/or working with MTechโ€™s estimating team to develop estimate.
  • Preparation of detailed sales proposals and presenting to clients.
  • Leading the design/build project phase with MTechโ€™s engineering team.
  • Attending and participating in project team design meetings.
  • Trending project costs and scope.
  • Identification of alternative methods and project betterments to improve cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Reviewing design documents for proper scope, design, and constructability.
  • Establishing and meeting sales goals in alignment with overall company goals
Project Management
  • Maintaining customer relationships (GC and end user)
  • Working with project team to develop solutions to issues that arise during construction process.
  • Leading MTech and project team to a successful project completion.
  • Leading project team on mechanical prime projects.
  • Set project goals with project teamโ€ฆshort and long term.
  • Preparing, managing, and updating project schedules
  • Project budget and cost understanding, management, and updating.
  • Subcontractor coordination.
  • Leading BIM where on projects where applicable
  • Implementation and utilization of MTech project management procedures.
  • Affective communication of project information to the project field managers.
  • Construction site visits to review project progress, maintain quality, be involved in solution development, and prepare/review punch lists.
  • Safety management and promotion of MTechโ€™s safety culture
  • Understanding and communicating man-power requirements.
  • Understanding and forecasting project revenue and margin expectations.
  • Contract review and understanding on assigned projects
  • Procurement of equipment and materials in conjunction with MTech purchasing group.
  • Equipment and subcontractor submittal preparation, review, approval process.
  • Invoice approval and A/R collection on assigned projects
  • Project closeout documents, coordination of owner training, and management of warranty period.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Strong experience with mechanical conceptual design, estimating, and construction operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Must be approved to drive per MTechโ€™s driving standards
  • HVAC and plumbing Mechanical Engineering design experience; minimum 4 years.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, MS Outlook, and Bluebeam/Adobe PDF
Qualifications
  • ME or AE degree and design/build background highly preferred
  • (10+ years) construction management background at a supervisory level
  • (5+ years ) experience as the lead project manager on multiple projects valued over $10M
  • Must be approved to drive per MTechโ€™s driving standards
  • Requires solid background in commercial HVAC construction project management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at different levels within the organization
  • Highly organized and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Viewpoint a plus
