Job description

The Strategic Growth Director serves as a senior leader responsible for identifying, shaping, and executing long-term growth opportunities for Strategic Solutions Unlimited (SSU). Reporting directly to the COO, this role integrates strategic planning, business development, customer success, regional leadership, and operational coordination to expand SSU’s market presence and revenue growth. The position establishes and leads SSU’s Tampa, Florida regional presence and serves as SSU’s strategic representative in the Tampa Bay region, building customer relationships, supporting project execution, expanding partnerships, and developing long-term growth strategies aligned with company objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a strategic growth plan supporting revenue expansion, market diversification, and geographic growth.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in defense, federal, state, local government, and commercial sectors.
  • Work closely with the COO, CEO, senior leaders, and Business Development team to prioritize growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain executivelevel relationships with customers, partners, industry associations, and stakeholders.
  • Support capture planning, opportunity qualification, proposal development, and pursuit strategies.
  • Establish and grow SSU’s presence in the Tampa Bay region and broader Florida market.
  • Provide executive oversight and customer engagement for projects and contracts within assigned geographic areas.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, competitive positioning, and acquisition forecasts.
  • Identify partnership, teaming, subcontracting, and jointventure opportunities.
  • Support customer success efforts to strengthen relationships, improve retention, and generate followon work.
  • Coordinate with operations, construction, modular structures, and mission support teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Represent SSU at conferences, trade shows, association events, and customer engagements.
  • Qualifications:
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Program Management, acquisitions or business development/ sales capture experience in the government and/or private sector
  • Experience in shaping and capturing complex training and services contracts.
  • Knowledge in defense acquisitions and scaling large Program of Record defense program growth, either from Government or industry experience
  • Understanding of requirements generation, acquisition strategy development, programming, planning, and budgeting cycles
  • Ability to build, adapt, and implement new and innovative approaches to market
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment
  • Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within defense and intelligence community to drive capability adoption
  • Excellent writing, communication skills with experience briefing senior executives and customers
