Job description

Open Vacancy: This role is a current, active position and we are accepting applications.

Our client is a global business agency that helps brands solve complex challenges through the power of strategy, creativity, media, data, and technology. They combine business intelligence with bold ideas to create meaningful connections between brands and their audiences, delivering innovative work that drives growth and impact.

This agency brings its insights to brand storytelling and activates it across every channel. With expertise in business strategy, media, CRM, brand communications, performance marketing and technology, the agency creates integrated marketing systems and communications that grow businesses.

The agency embraces a hybrid, flexible workplace with employees asked to attend the office three days per week.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned, highly strategic Managing Director, Integrated Media to serve as a senior leader on our Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO. This is the most senior role within Integrated Media, responsible for driving new business, representing our agency externally, and holding the agency's most significant Integrated Media client relationships. You will partner closely with the network agencies and external partner agencies to ensure our Integrated Media capability is fully represented across every collaboration, and you will mentor and set culture for the discipline's VPs and Directors. This is a role for a leader who is as comfortable shaping agency-wide strategy in the boardroom as they are closing new business and representing our agency in the market.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Senior Leadership & Agency Strategy: Sit on our Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO. Contribute to company-wide strategy, culture, and priorities beyond the Integrated Media discipline. Represent Integrated Media's perspective in SLT decisions on growth, resourcing, and agency direction.

  • New Business Ownership: Personally own and drive new business for Integrated Media — building prospective client relationships, leading and presenting in high-value pitches, and negotiating contracts and fees directly with Finance and Legal. Partner with the Vice President, Integrated Media, who identifies and builds the case for expansion within the existing portfolio; the Managing Director owns closing new business, both from new prospects and from expansion opportunities the VP surfaces.

  • Agency & Network Partnerships: Serve as the senior point of contact with both the network agencies on shared client work and cross-agency capability, and external partner agencies (PR, creative, production) on integrated client engagements — ensuring our role and value are clearly represented in every partnership.

  • Senior Client Stewardship: Personally hold our 1-2 most significant Integrated Media client relationships, acting as the ultimate senior escalation point across the full portfolio of accounts managed by the Vice President and Directors.

  • External Representation & Thought Leadership: Act as a public face for our Integrated Media capability — speaking engagements, press, industry bodies, and thought leadership content that builds the agency's market reputation.

  • Leadership & Culture: Mentor and coach Vice Presidents and Directors across the discipline, set tone and culture for the practice, and support their professional development beyond direct performance management.

  • Performance & Commercial Oversight: Maintain overall accountability for the commercial health of the Integrated Media discipline, including fee negotiation, contract terms, and profitability, in partnership with Finance.

About You
  • You have 15+ years of experience in a client services, strategic planning, or general management role within a top-tier consulting firm, interactive agency, or media agency, including senior people-leadership experience.

  • You have a demonstrated track record of personally closing new business at an agency — not just supporting pitches, but owning the relationship from prospect to signed contract.

  • You have experience representing an agency externally — press, speaking engagements, or industry recognition that builds market reputation.

  • You have experience operating at board/C-suite level, both with clients and within internal executive leadership.

  • You have experience negotiating commercial terms and contracts directly with clients, Finance, and Legal.

  • You possess a deep knowledge of strategic planning best practices, with proven expertise in developing creative, strategic, and optimized media plans for clients.

  • You have extensive knowledge of the integrated media landscape, including both traditional and digital channels.

  • You possess a mastery of media fundamentals, including media math, target audience development, and communication goals, and are familiar with marketing principles and analytics.

  • You are an optimist with the foresight to create solutions before challenges arise, and you thrive on building strong relationships and confidently presenting ideas.

  • You have a "we before me" attitude and excel at uniting and mentoring leaders across the agency.

Note: Hybrid work in office is an essential function of the job.
