Job Title: Electrical Designer II
Location: Perry, OH
Type: Contract
Compensation: $45

Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen due to Nuclear restrictions
Overview
System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Electrical Designer to join an engineering team in Perry, OH. This role will be collecting electrical field data and making design changes for upgrades of the plant. This will not be working with the nuclear reactor.
Electrical Designer II Responsibilities
  • Understand and develop wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, one-line/three-line diagrams, schematic/elementary diagrams, logic diagrams, and conduit/raceway diagrams
  • Produce complex 2D engineering drawings
  • Check drawings for accuracy including dimensions, spelling, drafting standards, and completeness utilizing correct project design criteria
  • Participate in field walk downs as necessary to obtain measurements, verify as-built documentation, and develop field sketches in support of plant modifications and design installations (occasionally required)
  • Exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction from Design Supervisor, Design Lead or Engineering
  • Concurrently support multiple projects
  • Communicate with project engineers and other disciplines to develop drawings and resolve design discrepancies
  • Interface with the customer and their construction representatives to integrate designs to satisfy their standards

Electrical Designer II Requirements
  • Associates degree in drafting, design or engineering technology or 4 years of equivalent experience in the design of electrical and controls systems
  • Must have 5 years (minimum) of experience in engineering drafting and electrical design practices in addition to the education requirements
  • Ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques as required for project requirements
  • Recent plant modification package development and/or field experience on nuclear power plant projects is a plus
  • Knowledge or use of Raster Design or 3D modeling experience is a plus
  • Additional certifications and/or courses in basic electronics and/or electrical systems desired
  • Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, working at heights, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous (e.g., high temperatures, high radiation) areas is required.
