POSITION DESCRIPTION

Strang Designers will work within multiple project teams that span across our architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture divisions. This position plays a crucial role in translating conceptual design into detailed, accurate, and well-coordinated construction documents. This candidate's proficiency in Revit will be instrumental in bringing our projects to life and ensuring that our designs are executed flawlessly.

A strong candidate for this role will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture and has a few years of experience in an architectural firm working within the design development and construction documentation phase. Some experience in interior architecture, renovations, and/or landscape architecture is beneficial since our designers work with an integrated team who touches all of these disciplines. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Project Duties:

  • Collaborate with project teams including Junior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Directors across the Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture divisions.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, models, and renderings for projects that may include Architecture, Interior Design, and/or Landscape Architecture.
  • Develop accurate construction documents including plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and notes.
  • Ensure all drawings and documents adhere to industry standards, codes, and project guidelines.
  • Participate in internal meetings, offering insights and solutions to design challenges and technical issues.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure seamless integration across architectural and interior elements. Contribute to material and product research to support design decisions and technical requirements.
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback from Junior Project Managers and Project Managers, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Assist in preparation of presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and project teams.
  • Complete all operational and administrative tasks including but not limited to meeting minutes, process documentation, and timekeeping.
  • Participate in professional development and office events such as product Lunch & Learns and showroom visits to maintain current knowledge of products and vendors.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Proven proficiency in Autodesk Revit is essential; strong knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Previous experience in drafting for both interior design and architectural projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and construction practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and well-coordinated drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of drafting work.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

Salary is commensurate with abilities and qualifications. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, and paid time off to employees who meet eligibility requirements. This role will be eligible for annual holiday bonuses and 401(k) profit-sharing upon successful completion of 1 year at STRANG and depending on the profitability of the company. We are a flexible work, hybrid company with an expectation that employees are able to work in the Coconut Grove office at least three days per week.
