Job description

Description & Requirements
Bloomberg Media is seeking an experienced and energetic contract producer to join its podcast team and help shape its flagship daily podcast, The Big Take. Published six days a week, the show focuses on international business and financial news. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced news environment, possesses exceptional editorial judgement and has a proven track-record in audio production. The role will work under the guidance of the Executive Producer, in collaboration with a global editorial and production podcast team as well as reporters and editors across Bloomberg's international newsroom.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Episode Scripting
  • Audio Editing and Mixing
  • Guest Booking
  • Interview prep
  • Technical Production (including in-person recordings and tape syncs)

Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of journalism experience
  • Experience with producing and mixing in Adobe Audition required
  • Demonstrated ability to write podcast episodes, identify strong tape and episode arcs
  • Must desire to work collaboratively with others and on a team
  • Exceptional news judgment and a sharp editorial ear
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior audio experience in a newsroom or a similar environment is essential
  • Willingness to work across time zones and occasionally outside of standard working hours to accommodate an international team
  • Financial or business news experience and video production skills a plus

Salary Range = 50 - 70 USD Hourly
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
