Job Title: Lead Engineer, Nuclear Hardening & Survivability

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

The Lead, Engineer, Nuclear Hardening & Survivability provides expertise to deliver electronic and electrical designs for the entire development process. Conceptional design through detail design, prototypes through volume manufacture, initial integration through qualification of airworthy/certified for wide range of gas turbine engines. You will collaborate with a multidiscipline project team on the electrical infrastructure, perform engineering analysis, generate detail electronic designs, create engineering drawings/documents and partner with suppliers.

In this role, the candidate ensures that all electronic products meet all program requirements by providing technical mentoring and leadership to the rest of team. You may be involved at any stage of a project including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing of prototypes and the final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Providing technical oversight and direction in the electronics circuit design and development process for new product development
  • Engage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision making
  • Define the electronics test plans and test methods, review and approve the electronics design and test results
  • Ensure quality of output through internal gate reviews and other appropriate processes
  • Support design, analysis, and test of electronics propulsion systems and components to include requirements capture, architecture, schematic capture, design analysis and implementation of printed circuit boards.
  • Lab testing and integration of complex electrical components, sensors, test equipment

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in electronics design, OR
  • Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in electronics design, OR
  • JD/PhD
  • In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in circuit design
  • Strong technical leadership, people management and project management skills
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processes
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques
  • Experience with embedded electronics design in aerospace or other industries requiring functional safety applications is preferred
  • Experience with schematic capture tools: Allegro-Cadence/Altium Designer
  • Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
  • Experience / Understanding of Safety Critical Control Systems (DAL A-C), High Integrity Control Solutions.
  • Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
