Palmetto Infusion provides comprehensive ambulatory and home-based infusion services to both acute and chronically ill patients. About the Role:
Responsible for taking Infusion Therapy and Home Health referrals from referral sources. Verifies insurance, enters patient demographics into the computer system, communicates with other departments regarding status of referrals and notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities. Ensures that all intake forms are complete, clear and within the company's scope of service.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience/Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years experience in health related field
  • Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm
  • Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.
Essential Functions:
  • Verification of all new and current cases' insurance every month
  • Maintain knowledge of the company's insurance contracts
  • Assisting with the in-coming Infusion and DME referrals.
  • Speaks knowledgeably regarding reimbursement issues and which insurance companies the companies have active contracts with.
  • Ensures that insurance verification Is completed prior to giving the referral to a Clinical/Care manager and/or Pharmacist.
  • Ensures that the Clinical/Care Manager and Pharmacist receive the referral in a timely fashion.
  • Assists the Clinical/Care Managers with any necessary sub-contracting of services.
  • Assists In on-call responsibilities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
