JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager, Business Banking Lending & Credit Strategy is responsible for defining and executing the lending strategy and portfolio stewardship across business banking, SBA and centralized credit services ensuring disciplined growth and consistent execution as the business grows. This strategic role links the bankers, credit, products, risk, and governance groups to drive growth, workflow efficiency, and sustainable revenue outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Define, maintain, and evolve Business Banking and SBA lending strategy across Business Banking Lending Centers, Client Coverage Segments, and SBA channels.
  • Establish clear structure guidance for bankers, including product usage, terms, positioning, and renewal approaches.
  • Monitor industry and market lending trends and translate into strategic considerations for conventional and SBA lending platforms, including intake simplification, automation, credit-scored modeling, and digital enablement.
  • Serve as the senior Business Banking owner of SBA lending strategy, supporting growth, complexity, and regulatory considerations.
  • Support scalable SBA intake processes, workflow consistency, and portfolio oversight as production volumes increase.
  • Translate lending strategy into scalable workflows and execution standards that improve efficiency and sustainable revenue outcomes.
  • Act as Business Banking's senior strategic leader to Credit, Product, Risk and Governance partners.
  • Monitor Business Banking and SBA portfolio performance, approval trends, mix, and concentration.
  • Provide education, feedback, and solution-oriented insights to bankers, SBA teams, and Product partners.
  • Partner with Product to inform Business Banking and SBA pricing posture based on observed portfolio and market behavior.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field required.
  • 12 years of progressive experience in Business Banking, Commercial Lending, Credit Risk, SBA, or related financial services roles with demonstrated responsibility for complex lending structures and portfolio outcomes required.
  • Strong partnership experience with Credit, Product, and Operations leaders
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into scalable execution.
  • Experience influencing without direct authority and operating in matrixed environments.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
