Position Overview

Our firm is seeking a detail‐oriented and proactive Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support attorneys in real estate and general business transactions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple matters simultaneously, and experienced in handling documents from initial drafting through closing and post‐closing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys throughout the lifecycle of transactional matters, including real estate and general business transactions, from initial intake through closing and post‐closing.
  • Draft, revise, and proofread transactional documents, including purchase agreements, deeds, leases, contracts, closing statements, entity documents, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate and manage closings, including preparing closing checklists, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all required documents are executed and delivered.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, and exception documents; assist in identifying and resolving title issues.
  • Order and review due diligence materials, including title work, lien searches, zoning information, and corporate records.
  • Communicate with clients, title companies, lenders, brokers, opposing counsel, and other third parties to facilitate transactions.
  • Prepare and organize closing binders and post‐closing documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and organize transaction files in accordance with firm procedures and confidentiality standards.
  • Track key dates, contingencies, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of matters.
  • Assist with entity formation and maintenance, including preparing and filing organizational documents.
  • Support contract and lease administration, including abstracts and tracking key terms and obligations.
  • Conduct basic legal and factual research related to transactional matters.
  • Provide administrative and billing support, including time entry and document management.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience as a transactional paralegal or legal assistant, with real estate and oil and gas experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with real estate closings, title and survey review, and general transactional workflows.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‐management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF software, and document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
