We are currently hiring for a Insurance Verification Coordinator at our Gateway West facility. This will be a full time position.

The Scheduling and Insurance Verification Coordinator gathers and sends schedule information to the appropriate client and other internal departments. Obtains all pertinent insurance benefit information and/or pre-certification approval for patients scheduled to receive services at an Imaging site, center or facility. Contacts patients and physician offices to obtain incomplete and/or missing information to ensure reimbursement of contracted procedures. Coordinates coverage restrictions to prevent payment problems. Resolves higher level issues. May assist in training new hire staff. Ensures every customer receives the highest quality of customer service.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in gathering documentation of all pertinent patient information in accordance with site guidelines. Contacts patients, physicians and clients to obtain incomplete, incorrect and/or missing information. May contact doctor's offices to request any necessary corrections to authorizations/pre-certifications and/or additional clinical information to needed to obtain an authorization/pre-certification.

  • Responsible for ensuring insurance companies are contacted to complete the verification process through phone calls and/or web based sites and/or is responsible for obtaining authorizations/ pre-certifications from insurance companies and radiology management companies. Prioritizes workload to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Documents the insurance and authorization verification information in the applicable computer system in accordance with documented work processes. Ensures any coverage restrictions are documented and addressed to avoid payment problems.

  • May assist supervisors and trainers in mentoring new team members.

  • Completes any additional job duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.

  • 1-2 years' experience in medical or related field required; medical experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures required.

  • Experience with scheduling/billing systems and use of computer software required.

  • Ability to work computers and general office equipment.

  • Must have good communication and interactive skills to work with patients, physicians and peers.

  • Ability to multi-task successfully and excellent organizational skills.

  • The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
