The Plant Support Specialist provides administrative support to the Plant and Asset Team with a high degree of accuracy, responds to voice-mail and email, and maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies and requirements including, but not limited to OSHA, FDA, DOT, ISO and Airgas regulations, policies and procedures.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

  • Demonstrates and aligns with Airgas Safety Pledge and 12 Life Saving Rules.

  • Exemplifies, promotes and cultivates safe work behaviors.

  • Ensures we prioritize all applicable regulatory (OSHA, FDA, DOT, EPA) requirements and that applicable training and recordkeeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines.

  • Supports compliance with all Specialty, Medical and Food Gas Standard OperatingProcedures, SMS and ISO requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to plant flow by operating a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment

  • Receives, unpacks, examines, and documents incoming shipments

  • Manages the return of damaged goods

  • Moves stock to and from shipping and receiving area to storage area

  • Prepares and routes merchandise for shipment

  • Releases daily invoices and completes all required documentation on a timely and accurate basis

  • Loads and unloads materials in accordance with standard operating policies &procedures

  • Collaborates on all Daily Production Tracking

  • Enters daily production data for the plant

  • Enters daily production data for each plant filler's log

  • Enters daily retest data

  • Enters daily driver data

  • Nurtures Vendor Purchases and relationships

  • Creates purchase orders

  • Places the orders for multiple plants (gathering pricing, lead times and other information from the vendors)

  • Receives products and closes out the purchase order

  • Fosters alignment regarding Vendor invoice issues

  • Responsible for Shipment/Delivery Tracking

  • Creates the delivery/shipment documents; makes edits as requested

  • Closes shipments, completes trip reports and enters the data in a google sheet

  • Sets up Common Carrier Loads with AFS logistics when required

  • Maintains cylinder inventory in the system

  • We look for all required paperwork to be accurately completed

  • Ensure all administrative and accounting related procedures are consistently followed.

  • Receives, classifies, and routes incoming mail.

  • May conduct research of records for information relating to invoices, packingslips, purchase orders, delivery receipts, payments, credits, or other matters related tothe function of the employing plant.

  • Collaborating on evolving plant needs and projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.

  • Administrative Certificate from an accredited technical school, college/university, orequivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic knowledge of Google/Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with SAP and/or a production planning module preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability as a highly motivated individual who performs exceptionally well inan administrative capacity. As well as a warehouse environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, self-motivation, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention to detail.

  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment

  • Must Cultivate a habit of daily structure and steady perseverance.
