Job description

Cottingham & Butler is the 3rd largest privately and independently held insurance brokerage firm. Simply put, we are professional buyers of insurance. As we continue to grow, Cottingham & Butler is actively looking for ambitious and driven individuals for our 2027 Summer Insurance Marketer Internship Program.

What You'll Do: As an Insurance Marketer Intern, you will be immersed in various aspects of the insurance marketing process, gaining hands-on experience and developing essential skills. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Execute Individual Projects: Take ownership of specific projects by developing solutions to enhance client experience or improve internal company processes.
  • Learn Basics of Full-Time Role: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities and tasks involved in a full-time marketer role in your specified division.
  • Client and Insurance Carrier Meetings: Attend client meetings with experienced professionals to understand client needs and participate in discussions, as well as learn to negotiate price and coverage with insurance companies during carrier meetings.
  • Policy Review: Review client policies to identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Market Research and Strategy Development: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities, while collaborating with team members to develop and implement marketing strategies that address client needs and market conditions.
  • Networking: Build connections with clients, industry professionals, and fellow interns through networking events and social activities.

  • Start date: Tuesday, May 18th, 2027
  • End date: Friday, July 23rd, 2027
  • Duration: 10 weeks in a culture unlike any other
