Job description

About MGT Insurance
MGT is the first AI-driven, neo-insurer focused on evolving commercial P&C insurance for the brokers and small business owners. By combining the expertise of industry veterans with state-of-the-art technology, we are ushering in the next evolution of commercial insurance and working to move the industry forward through the use of modern technology, better processes, and a rock-star team. We seek visionary leaders who thrive in dynamic, entrepreneurial settings, and excel in autonomous roles.
Position Overview
Working alongside the Territory Manager/Marketing Manager, the Relationship Manager will foster growing partnerships with independent agents and broker partners across MGT Insurance's distribution network. This role acts as the primary point of contact for partner onboarding, activation, and retention. The primary focus is to drive profitable premium growth, expand platform adoption, and ensure partners are fully equipped to quote, bind, and service business through proactive relationship management and service excellence.
Core Responsibilities
  • Partner Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with independent agents and broker partners, serving as their primary point of contact for onboarding, servicing, and ongoing support.
  • Growth & Distribution Strategy: Drive partner activation and engagement initiatives to grow monthly bind volume, quote activity, and written premium across the distribution platform.
  • Onboarding & Training: Onboard and train new broker partners, equipping them with the tools, product knowledge, and workflows needed to quote, sell, and service policies effectively.
  • Market & Performance Analysis: Track partner performance, market trends, and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities and refine distribution strategy.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Insurance, Product, and Engineering teams to advocate for partner needs and prioritize platform enhancements that improve the partner experience.
  • Service Standards & Process Improvement: Develop and refine service SLAs and scalable workflows for partner acquisition, onboarding, and support that reduce response/resolution times and repetitive service issues.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to act as a trusted advisor to agency principals and broker partners.
  • Insurance & Distribution Knowledge: Working knowledge of commercial lines products (e.g., BOP) and independent agent distribution models.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in reading performance data, tracking partner metrics, and analyzing market and production trends.
  • Process & Service Orientation: Ability to build and refine SLAs and workflows that scale partner support and onboarding without adding headcount.
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to manage a high volume of partner touchpoints across phone, email, and chat, and work autonomously with minimal direct supervision.
Typical Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Risk Management, or equivalent professional industry experience.
  • Experience: 2 to 4+ years of combined experience in relationship management, partner/broker success, account management, or a related distribution role, ideally within insurance or insurtech.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success growing a book of business, partner engagement, or production volume through relationship-building and proactive account management.
  • Licensing/Designations: Active state Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license a plus. Industry professional designations are a plus.

Compensation: This is a commission-based role with expected On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $90K-$130K. OTE represents the expected total annual compensation (base salary plus commission) for employees meeting performance expectations. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and individual performance.
We recognize that no candidate will meet every qualification and encourage individuals with relevant experience and interest in the role to apply.
Please note: MGT does not accept unsolicited resumes from staffing vendors, including recruitment agencies and/or search firms. Please do not forward resumes to our jobs alias, MGT employees, or any other company location. Any submittals without a prior signed agreement will become property of MGT.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
At MGT, inclusion drives excellence and belonging sustains it. We believe diverse perspectives make us stronger, more innovative, and more connected to the people we serve. We value every voice, champion equity, and create space where all people can grow and succeed together.

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application and employment process.
