What is the difference between Insurance Recovery Attorney vs Insurance Claims Adjuster?

CredentialsJuris Doctor (JD), State Bar LicenseHigh school diploma or equivalent, often insurance licensing
Work EnvironmentLaw firms, corporate legal departments, courtsInsurance companies, independent agencies, claims offices
Industry UsageLegal representation, dispute resolutionClaims processing, risk assessment
Primary FocusLegal advocacy for policyholders or insurersEvaluating and settling insurance claims

Insurance Recovery Attorneys focus on legal aspects of insurance disputes, representing clients in court or negotiations. Insurance Claims Adjusters handle the evaluation and settlement of claims, often working directly with policyholders and insurers. While both roles involve insurance, their responsibilities, credentials, and work environments differ significantly.

What are some common challenges faced by insurance recovery attorneys when negotiating with insurance companies?

Insurance Recovery Attorneys often encounter challenges such as complex policy language, delayed responses from insurers, and aggressive defense strategies aimed at minimizing payouts. Navigating these issues requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of insurance law, and the ability to interpret detailed policy provisions. Attorneys in this role frequently collaborate with clients, experts, and sometimes other legal teams to build a compelling case, ensuring that clients receive the coverage they are entitled to under their policies.

What is an insurance recovery attorney?

An Insurance Recovery Attorney is a legal professional who specializes in helping individuals and businesses obtain insurance coverage and payments they are entitled to under their policies. They assist clients in disputes with insurance companies, such as claim denials, delayed payments, or underpaid claims. These attorneys represent policyholders in negotiations, settlement discussions, and lawsuits to ensure their rights are protected and they receive the benefits promised by their insurance contracts.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an insurance recovery attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Insurance Recovery Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, state bar admission, and strong expertise in insurance law and policy analysis. Familiarity with legal research tools (like Westlaw or LexisNexis), litigation management software, and e-discovery platforms is typically required. Outstanding negotiation, analytical thinking, and client communication skills set top performers apart in this field. These competencies ensure effective representation of clients in coverage disputes, maximize favorable outcomes, and foster trust in complex, high-stakes legal matters.

Job description

Be the First Smile Patients Remember.

When someone walks into our office, they're often in pain, overwhelmed after an accident, or simply looking for answers.

Before they ever meet the doctor, they meet you.

We're looking for someone who understands that exceptional patient care begins at the front desk. Someone who enjoys helping people, stays calm under pressure, communicates with confidence, and takes pride in creating an organized, welcoming environment.

If you're looking for a career where your work genuinely matters—and where you'll be part of building the future of a growing healthcare organization—we'd love to meet you.

About Dilanchian Chiropractic (HD Chiro)

For years, Dilanchian Chiropractic Corporation has provided patient-centered chiropractic care focused on helping individuals recover from injury, reduce pain, and return to the activities they love.

As we continue to grow, we're entering an exciting new chapter as HD Chiro, expanding our services, investing in new technology, and building a modern healthcare experience while staying true to the reputation we've earned.

We believe outstanding patient care starts with outstanding people. Every member of our team plays an important role in creating an experience built on compassion, professionalism, and excellence.

About the Role

As our Medical Front Desk Coordinator, you'll become the operational center of the practice.

You'll greet patients, coordinate appointments, answer phones, communicate with attorneys, insurance companies, and referral partners, manage patient documentation, and help ensure the clinic operates efficiently every day.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and keeping everything organized while contributing to a team that truly supports one another.

What You'll Do
  • Welcome every patient with professionalism, warmth, and exceptional customer service
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient questions
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
  • Register new patients and accurately enter demographic, insurance, and accident information
  • Verify insurance benefits and maintain accurate patient records
  • Collect patient payments and maintain proper documentation
  • Coordinate communication with attorneys, insurance adjusters, referral offices, and medical providers
  • Assist with medical records requests and administrative documentation
  • Prepare patient paperwork and ensure required forms are completed
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and professional reception area
  • Support providers and clinical staff with administrative needs throughout the day
  • Help create an outstanding experience for every patient from check-in through check-out
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of customer service, administrative, or front office experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a chiropractic, medical, physical therapy, or outpatient healthcare office
  • Experience with personal injury or motor vehicle accident cases
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) software
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Experience verifying insurance benefits and scheduling patients

If you're passionate about helping people and providing exceptional customer service, we'd love to hear from you—even if you don't meet every preferred qualification.

What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid sick leave
  • Paid holidays
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Supportive leadership and collaborative team environment
  • Modern technology and streamlined workflows
  • Opportunities for advancement as our organization continues to grow
Why Join Our Team?

We're not looking for someone to simply answer phones.

We're looking for someone who wants to become an essential part of a practice that changes lives every day.

Our patients often arrive following motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, or chronic pain conditions. They deserve compassion, professionalism, and confidence from the very first interaction.

As one of the first people they meet, you'll play an important role in building trust and creating an experience that reflects the values of our practice.

At Dilanchian Chiropractic (HD Chiro), we believe great workplaces are built by great people. We invest in our employees, encourage professional growth, and foster a culture built on teamwork, accountability, and respect.

If you're looking for more than just another front desk position—and want a career where your contributions are recognized and valued—we'd love to meet you.

Apply Today

If you're ready to join a growing healthcare organization and become part of a team committed to delivering exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your resume through Manatal. Qualified candidates will be contacted promptly as we are actively hiring.
