Position Summary
The Administrative Attorney provides comprehensive legal support by assisting the Intake Department, covering for absent associates, offering in-house counsel, and specializing in DIR death benefit claims and workers' compensation litigation.
Salary Range
  • $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience

Eligible to receive a bonus based on shared revenue generated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following
  • Ensuring case management software (CMS) feed is cleared daily.
  • Ensuring completion of all assigned tasks by relevant due dates.
  • Ensuring emails are cleared daily.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of cases in CMS.
  • Assisting the Intake department as needed to ensure that potential new clients are met with quickly and efficiently.
  • Handling death benefit claims with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
  • Offering expert advice and strategic counsel on active Workers' Compensation cases.
  • Stepping in to monitor and manage the progress of assigned cases when primary attorneys are unavailable.
  • Assisting in establishing, reviewing, and updating case plans as necessary, particularly when covering for absent attorneys.
  • Identifying and addressing issues that arise in assigned cases during attorney absences.
  • Drafting all non-routine correspondence during periods of attorney absence.
  • Reviewing actual and de facto determinations to ensure case goals and objectives are met when providing coverage for primary attorneys.
  • Directing and ensuring the timely appeal of all issues where appropriate while covering for primary attorneys.
  • Monitoring and managing the litigation process of assigned cases during attorney absences.
  • Establishing, reviewing, and updating litigation plans as necessary when filling in for primary attorneys.
  • Determining and directing legal arguments and evidence to be presented in litigation during periods of attorney absence.
  • Overseeing and ensuring client communication on all relevant issues in litigation while providing coverage for primary attorneys.
  • Attending hearings and making legal arguments to advocate for assigned clients when filling in for primary attorneys.
  • Participating in administrative staff meetings and leadership team meetings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctor degree and a specialization in law or any related field
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada and in good standing with the Nevada State Bar
  • A valid Nevada driver's license, valid driver's insurance, and proof of driving record
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and government regulations
  • Excellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, computer
  • Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms, such as a CMS
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
  • Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
  • Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various backgrounds and professional competencies
  • Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of clients and the Firm

Preferred Qualification (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
