We are a fast-paced law firm focused on insurance defense and subrogation matters, representing insurers, businesses, and individuals in a wide range of civil litigation cases. Our team is committed to delivering efficient, high-quality legal services while maintaining a collaborative and supportive work environment.


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant with a background in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense and/or subrogation. This role is essential in supporting attorneys through all stages of litigation—from case intake through trial—while ensuring deadlines are met and files are maintained with precision.

Key Responsibilities

·         Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents

·         Handle high-volume case management for insurance defense and subrogation files

·         E-file in state and federal courts and track filing deadlines

·         Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files

·         Assist with discovery, including drafting interrogatories, requests for production, and responses

·         Coordinate depositions, inspections, mediations, and hearings

·         Prepare trial materials, exhibits, and binders

·         Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel

·         Review medical records, bills, and claim-related documents

·         Assist with subrogation recovery tracking and lien documentation


Qualifications

·         2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in civil litigation

·         Prior experience in insurance defense and/or subrogation strongly preferred

·         Familiarity with litigation procedures, deadlines, and court rules

·         Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

·         Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Skills

·         Experience working with insurance carriers and adjusters

·         Knowledge of medical terminology and billing records

·         Familiarity with case management and billing software (e.g., Clio, Time Matters, or similar)

·         Trial preparation experience

·         Paralegal certificate is a plus
