Job description

Quote Specialist The Quote Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and timely customer quotations for industrial and manufactured products while serving as a key liaison between customers, sales, engineering, procurement, and operations teams. This role focuses heavily on reviewing quote requests, interpreting specifications and technical drawings, coordinating pricing information, and ensuring proposals are completed efficiently to support business growth. This is a Direct Hire located in Itasca, IL. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed customer quotations by reviewing RFQs, bid requests, technical specifications, and product requirements to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to gather pricing, material costs, lead times, and technical information needed for quote development.
  • Manage a high volume of quote requests, track opportunities through the sales pipeline, and maintain accurate records within Salesforce and other company systems.
  • Communicate with customers through phone and email to clarify requirements, answer questions, provide quote updates, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations to support conversion opportunities and assist the sales team in securing new business.
  • Review technical drawings, customer documentation, and project details to ensure proposed solutions meet customer specifications and operational capabilities.
  • Support outbound business development efforts by identifying potential opportunities, generating leads, and assisting the commercial team with customer outreach activities.
  • Maintain organized quote documentation, monitor quote status, and provide reporting updates to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience preparing quotations, estimates, proposals, or inside sales support documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Manufacturing, industrial products, engineering, or technical sales support experience is preferred.
