Position Overview:

Univista Insurance is seeking an experienced and results-driven Commercial Director to lead, develop, and optimize the performance of our commercial insurance operations. This role is responsible for overseeing a team of commercial sales agents and account managers, ensuring exceptional customer service, driving new business growth, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of commercial insurance products, and the ability to implement effective strategies that support departmental and organizational goals.

Leadership & Team Development

· Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of commercial agents and account representatives to achieve sales targets and service objectives.

· Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and developmental training to enhance team expertise and productivity.

· Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Operational Oversight

· Oversee daily operations of the commercial department, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and timely service delivery.

· Monitor key performance metrics including production, retention rates, client satisfaction, and policy accuracy.

· Ensure all processes adhere to company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Commercial Sales & Client Management

· Drive departmental growth by implementing strategies to increase commercial insurance sales and renewals.

· Support agents in handling complex policy inquiries, endorsements, renewals, and escalated client concerns.

· Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term retention through exceptional service and relationship management.

Process Improvement & Reporting

· Analyze performance data to identify operational gaps, trends, and opportunities for process optimization.

· Implement improvements that increase efficiency, elevate customer experience, and support revenue growth.

· Prepare and present performance reports, forecasts, and insights to senior leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with departments such as Marketing, Claims, Underwriting, and Compliance to ensure seamless coordination and support for commercial initiatives.

· Partner with senior leadership to develop strategies that align with company objectives and market demands.

Qualifications:

· Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

· High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, coverages, and underwriting guidelines.

· Proficiency in CRM systems, policy management platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial insurance, including sales, servicing, or team leadership.

· Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly and professionally.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on timely and effective solutions.

· Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Active 2-20 General Lines License is REQUIRED for this role.

· Reliable transportation required.
