Specifically, as an insurance manager, you supervise a sales agent or broker to help them drive sales and make sure they sell enough policies. Then, you ensure each of your sales agents receives a commission for excelling in their duties. To maximize profits, you set premiums by using actuary data and information from appraisers to determine the likelihood of clients filing claims, as well as the value of their assets. In this role, you are typically involved in many actions that the branch takes, such as the approval, denial, or investigation of claims.

To thrive as an Insurance Manager, you need expertise in risk assessment, policy analysis, and regulatory compliance, often supported by a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Familiarity with insurance management software, claims processing systems, and industry certifications like CPCU or ARM is highly valuable. Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills help build effective teams and maintain client relationships. These abilities are crucial for ensuring seamless operations, regulatory adherence, and delivering excellent service in a competitive insurance environment.

Tired of Turning Clients Away at Captive Agencies?

If you are a licensed P&C agent feeling stuck in a rigid corporate call center or forced to turn away good clients because your single carrier raised rates, it’s time for a change.

At Davidson Insurance Agency, we do things differently. For three generations in Lincoln, we’ve operated on a simple promise: we treat our team like the family you choose. As an independent agency, you’ll give your clients choices across top regional and national carriers—meaning you win more deals, retain more business, and build an enviable income stream.

  • 100% Agency-Paid Marketing: Stop buying cold leads or worrying about marketing budgets. We fully fund and drive the lead pipeline so you can focus strictly on building relationships and closing sales.
  • Upgraded Workspace & Tech: No sluggish legacy software. You’ll work in a modern office equipped with dual-monitor setups and fast systems designed to eliminate friction.
  • Fully Sponsored Professional Growth: We pay 100% of your Continuing Education (CE) costs. Want to expand your income potential? We’ll fully fund and support you in getting your Health Insurance License.
  • Real Balance & Support: 100% in-office culture built on collaboration, mutual respect, and zero micro-management.

What You’ll Do (Your Role as a Risk Manager)

  • Advise, Don't Just "Sell": Conduct value-based, customer-focused reviews to educate families on auto, home, and umbrella coverage that fits their lives.
  • Build & Bundle: Drive new business acquisition and quote multi-line bundles (Auto + Home + Umbrella) using our robust suite of carriers.
  • Cultivate Long-Term Relationships: Serve as a trusted advisor to new prospects and nurture existing client accounts across our Lincoln-area book of business.

What We’re Looking For

  • Nebraska Property & Casualty (P&C) License: Active state license required.
  • Life & Health License: A definite plus! (If not currently licensed, we will support you in obtaining it).
  • Sales Mindset & Drive: Self-motivated, proactive problem solver who thrives in an energetic, team-oriented culture.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding verbal, written, and active listening skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
