What is the opportunity?

RBC Insurance is seeking a Manager, Finance to lead our financial planning, budgeting, and reporting functions within our insurance division. This role supports RBC Insurance's expense reporting, analysis, and planning activities while working closely with Finance business partners and cross-functional teams. You will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting, drive process improvements, and support month-end, quarter-end, and forecasting activities.

What will you do?

  • Provide strategic direction for financial planning and budgeting processes; oversee the annual budgeting cycle including financial analysis and business impact assessment
  • Produce thorough, accurate, and timely financial reports; analyze and interpret financial information for planning, control, and decision-making purposes
  • Support project implementation and provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives
  • Act as a financial conduit between core finance and business stakeholders, translating complex financial concepts into business language

What do you need to succeed?

Must Haves:

  • CPA or CPA in progress, including equivalent professional accounting credential
  • 3+ years of progressive finance experience, including with expenses and FP&A
  • Exposure to the insurance finance, either within an accounting firm, or in industry
  • Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and data analytics tools
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to produce pivot tables and perform look ups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven "can-do" attitude with ability to prioritize competing demands

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with insurance-specific financial processes and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with IFRS 17 standards
  • Proficiency with Cognos (TM1) and advanced Excel functions (VBA)

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
