Our Legal Litigation department is currently seeking an Associate ICA Writer or ICA Writer to support arbitration matters between The Cincinnati Insurance Companies and other insurers. This position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.
This position prepares persuasive written arguments that clearly articulate and support the position of the Claims Department.
This role may be filled at the Associate (entry-level) or ICA Writer (experienced level) based on qualification and experience.
The pay range for this position Associate ICA Writer (Entry Level): $19.23 - $32.16 hourly and ICA Writer (Experienced): is $21.63 - $37.10 hourly. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
  • Prepare professional, well-written, persuasive arbitration submissions supporting the Company position
  • Review claim files and analyze facts, evidence, and disputed issues to construct effective arguments
  • Clearly articulate positions that strengthen the insured's stance and address opposing arguments
  • Manage multiple assignments and meet production and quality expectations
  • Collaborate with Field Claims, Claims Recovery, and Legal partners
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and consistency in written work

Role Level Expectations:
Associate ICA Writer (Entry Level)
  • Typically 1-4 years of experience
  • Develop foundational understanding of: Claims processes, Disputed Liability Issues and Arbitration Writing Strategy
  • Handle lower exposure auto liability cases
  • Focus on building strong writing fundamentals and internal relationships

ICA Writer (Experienced)
  • Typically 4+ years of experience
  • Demonstrate advanced: Analytical reasoning; Persuasive writing sophistication and Ability to address complex or conflicting evidence
  • Handle expanded caseload including: Higher exposure Auto liability files, MedPay and PIP files
  • Participate in arbitration forums (panel participation as applicable)
  • Build relationships across Claims, Recovery, and Legal stakeholders

Be equipped with:
  • Strong persuasive and analytical writing skills
  • Understanding (or ability to learn) the insurance claims process
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Experience with claims systems (CMS) is a plus

Bring Education and experience from:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant insurance/legal experience
  • Prior experience in: Claims, Insurance litigation support and Legal writing is beneficial but not required for entry-level candidates
