Our team represents clients throughout the collection process while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, organization, and client service. We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and legal staff in managing high-volume case files and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
Job Description
The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and staff handling foreclosure and delinquency collection matters. This role is responsible for preparing legal documents, managing case files, coordinating deadlines, and assisting with all aspects of case administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives both individually and in a team collaboration environment, and is able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
•Prepare, format, proofread, and revise legal documents for filing and correspondence.
•Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
•Draft routine legal correspondence, notices, and transmittal letters.
•Prepare court filings and ensure documents are completed accurately and submitted in accordance with applicable deadlines and court requirements.
•Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to filing or distribution.
•Scan, index, and maintain digital records within the firm's case management system.
•Monitor attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case milestones to ensure timely completion of tasks.
•Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, certified mail, FedEx shipments, and court deliveries.
•Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third-party vendors as directed.
•Request, process, and track invoices and case-related expenses.
•Assist attorneys with case preparation, document organization, and administrative support.
•Perform general office and clerical duties to support the legal team and ensure efficient office operations.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role is preferred but not required
  • Foreclosure experience preferred but not required
  • Experience in collections, creditors' rights, civil litigation, or high-volume legal practice is a bonus.
  • Certification or diploma as a Legal Assistant helpful but not required
  • Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system helpful
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with document management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel and case management software
  • Experience working with electronic document management and case management systems is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure while meeting strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive legal matters.
